Presents the design scheme, equipment selection, control strategy, operation and maintenance management of distributed variable frequency pumps in the urban heating network of Baoding. Discusses the problems that should be paid attention to in the large-scale application of distributed variable frequency pumps. The results show that compared with relay pump station scheme, the distributed variable frequency pump scheme has the advantages of low initial investment, low operating cost and strong adaptability to changes of future working conditions. A large number of distributed variable frequency pumps need to be carefully selected through hydraulic simulation to ensure higher efficiency operation. Through the centralized control of the whole network, the distributed variable frequency pumps and the motorized valves of each heat station can be uniformly regulated and controlled, which realizes the hydraulic balance of the whole network. Meanwhile, through the on-line monitoring and diagnosis of the operation parameters, the operation problems can be found in time, and the quality of the heating and energy saving of the distributed variable frequency pump system can be guaranteed.
